Position: Civil Engineer/Project Enginerer

Position description:
We aer hiring a part-time in house Civil Engineer/ Project Engineer for our Virginia Office. This is a part-time position with weekly hours of 15 to 25 hours.

Primary duties includes but not limited to:

1. Hunt, research, review and analyze VDOT projects list, project documents, specifications and drawings on a daily basics.
2. Prepare bid documents and project proposals to prime companies.
3. Attending VDOT and MWAA pre-proposal meetings, DBE meeting and networking on half of Trinco. Networking with prime companies, fellow DBE companies, and VDOT for possible opportunities and leads.
4. Review Structure and Architectural drawings; Prepare cost estimation, project scheduling, and project cost report.
5. liaison between Trinco, VDOT, consultant and Trinco’s suppliers. handles the interaction and communication between Trinco’s engineering division and outside business connection.

Education:
Graduation from an ABET-accredited 4-, 5-, or 6-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines:
Civil Engineering
Structural Engineering
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Civil Engineering Technology
Construction Engineering Management

Masters degree is preferred

Career Experience
A minimum of 3 years of civil engineering experience with strong technical, written and verbal communication skills.
A minimum of 3 years of project proposal writing, cost estimation, scheduling experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience interacting with VDOT and prime companies
A minimum of 2 years of experience of DBE company certifications, status and compliance with State/Federal requirements
